Vibrational Sound Therapy can support you if…

  • you seek a simple, passive technique to help regulate the nervous system, experience emotional equanimity and bolster your immune system;

  • you are generally resistant to or challenged by the act of 'unplugging'/relaxing but feel curious or have a deeper knowing that it could be beneficial for you;

  • you are ready to develop a relationship with relaxation therapy as a new or additional skill for coping with daily stressors, fatigue, muscle recovery, anxiety or depression.

What is Vibrational Sound Therapy?

Vibrational Sound Therapy describes a specific modality of relaxation therapy* that combines vibration and tones to induce the relaxation state of the parasympathetic nervous system. Clients report effects ranging from a meditative state to deep relaxation. By placing the therapeutic singing bowls directly on and around the body in specific sequences, the practitioner establishes a rhythmic pace to encourage the brain activity to slow and recede toward relaxation.

The technique associated with VST has some advantages over traditional massage. One major comfort barrier that prevents many people from receiving a traditional massage is fear of being touched by a stranger. In the VST method, the client remains fully clothed and direct contact between client and practitioner is kept to a minimum. The effects can already be felt within the first session, as the tactile vibration and resonance of the bowls allow the recipient to drop into a state of deeply restorative relaxation.

VST can bring about a feeling of fresh energy, spaciousness, renewed mental clarity, or profound inner peace through the oscillation of alpha, theta, and delta predominant brainwave states. It requires no physical effort and each session is tailored with your needs in mind (i.e., medical history & preexisting health conditions are discussed prior to each session).

VST is not the same as a group soundbath, as this is a one-on-one session tailored for the recipient.

*Relaxation Therapy can help reduce muscle tension and stress, lower blood pressure, manage pain and anxiety symptoms. Meditative states brought on by relaxation have been shown to increase the threshold for emotional responses (i.e., creating more space between the external influence and one's reaction to it)
